Hi I am looking for some information on how aptible stores database backups. Basically wanted to know if aptible owns the hardware or uses AWS or other cloud storage service for backing up data?

Currently, all of Aptible’s database backups are stored as EBS snapshots (and snapshot copies for cross-region backups). In the future, this may change, for example if AWS introduces additional backup storage mechansims, and/or we build support for additional IaaS providers like Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.
